Calpernia Addams is the most famous transsexual in the country. The Nashville native was thrust into the national spotlight by the 2003 movie "Soldier's Girl" , about her relationship with Barry Winchell , who was murdered by his fellow Army privates in 1999. Since that horrible tragedy, Addams has fully transitioned from male to female, and has become a star along the way. She's a headlining cabaret showgirl. She appeared in The Vagina Monologues with Jane Fonda, Glenn Close , Salma Hayak , and Alicia Keyes .  She coached and appeared with Feliciy Huffman in the 2007 film "Transamerica". She recently won a GLAAD Media Award for her show, "Transamerican Love Story". And she's an outspoken advocate of LGBT rights, recently appearing in a PSA for the No H8 campaign. Addams took some time to talk about transitioning, her life in Hollywood as a transsexual actress, her new film "Transproofed", and why she's a weirdo.
