Good point how does everyone else feel about this?

Engineer what do you think regarding environmental management systems that are popping up now?

Do you think the corporations are starting to consider their environmental responsibilities or do you think it is just an image thing?

It's mainly image. It's their only motivation

There is a significant financial benefit to using less. Many times it is because we are just too lazy.

I went from oil heat to electric using radiant panels and still was able to lower my electric bill by using cost saving measures. I eliminated the use of about 900 gallons of fuel oil.

Basically by using fluorescent lighting and turning things off when they don't need to be on.

I personally think the carbon credit stuff is all a scam. In Wisconsin the ethanol programs have been a huge boondoggle. I think as time moves forward we will learn that this whole rush towards saving the planet was a scam and that there is something larger at work here. I think it's just an excuse to move us towards a Marxist totalitarian nation under the leadership of one party. However, I think many people now realize the terrible mistake that was made and will begin the slow course correction in 2010. That's about the same time all of the Obama unemployment checks start to run out.
