"Obama said his life's experience has taught him Islam is a religion of peace and justice.
Obama said: "Threatening Israel with destruction or repeating vile stereotypes about Jews is deeply wrong and only serves to evoke in the minds of the Israelis this most painful of memories while preventing the peace that the people of this region deserve."
"The enduring faith of over a billion people," he said, "is so much bigger than the narrow hatred of a few." -

you know, speaking of "threatening israel with destruction,"

Iran's leader never said "Israel must be wiped off the map" That was a mistranslation. Ahmadinejad's phrase translates to "be eliminated from the pages of history."
He did say he hoped its regime, i.e., a Jewish-Zionist state occupying Jerusalem, would collapse.
see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmoud_Ahmadinejad_a...
FTA
"what he said was that "the occupation regime over Jerusalem should vanish from the page of time." No state action is envisaged in this lament; it denotes a spiritual wish, whereas the erroneous translation—"wipe Israel off the map"—suggests a military threat. There is a huge chasm between the correct and the incorrect translations..."
Bush used this erroneous translation for headline justification, policy-making, and saber rattling. Looks like this administration isn't changing course with this either. Nice way to start off "a new beginning with Muslims."
Next they will call it "Ahmadineja-said-wipe-Israel-off-the-map denial." -

The paradox of Cherev-
Reply
Any proposed restraint on the avaricious land-grabs and racist policies of Israel will immediately be compared to Naziism by Cherev.
But Cherev, in supporting the Israeli push for Lebensraum, and in cheerleading Israel's oppression of the Palestinians, is himself an embodiment of the values that fueled Naziism.
Sucks to be the thing you hate, Cherev. Sucks to be you.

President Obama never said "Raus Jude Raus" to the Jews living in Israel's "settlements." Cherev, you are a liar.

He is trying to get both sides to move towards a peaceful solution. That will require compromise from both sides. You know cherev, I am going to be very honest with you. I am neither a jew nor a moslem. I always thought jews are very intelligent people who have accomplished so much as far as science & technology is concerned. And, jews have accomplished so much in such a short time, after surviving so much. I have also found the jews I have met to be personable, good hearted people.
With that said, when I just read your post, I am very concerned. You have completly twisted everything President Obama has said so far. The conflict is long standing, and for any peaceful resolution both sides will have to compromise. Even if that means Israel needs to stop expanding settlements. Never once has President Obama even implied "Raus Jude Raus." In fact, you should know there is more hate for jews in Germany, then in any other western country. You should also know Germany has a very active, underground Nazi movement. President Obama did a great job with the speech he gave in Germany. -
