Now watch the mindless masses try and tell us this proves global warming does not exist. Never mind the melting North Pole, there might be snow in North Dakota.

I live about 100 miles north of Minot and we have been colder than what would be considered normal for over a year now, any time I have mentioned this to people they say that I am just taalking of weather which is location specific and not the climate. This cooling has been going on for over a year now and seems constant and does cover much of Canada and in some degree the northern states,[not sure about when you get farther south] also the winter in much of Europe was cooler than normal.
Now if this [trend] continues I am left wondering how people like Al Gore will face the public, I don't have problems with people who have opinions but when they create a cult of followers who wish to change everything on something that has yet to be proven it can be a real waste of time and resources, and in some cases it puts alot of money in the pockets of those who yell that the sky is falling.
Up here we have a saying that if you don't like the weather wait 15 minutes and it will likely change [short term thinking], I feel the same could be said about the climate, if you don't like the climate now you should have been here 10,000 year ago or even a million years ago [long term thinking].
I will never deny that the weather changes and the same goes for the climate, but what I will question is the human effect on both, and when it come to those of us who question this effect I doubt that you will find a single one of us who will not agree that we could and should be more responsible toward the health of our planet and the use of its resources.

Interesting that my factual, scientifically sound research article, with the original article referenced on Science News, was negged.

Some people just neg because of the person. So much for independently minded, open to new ideas, libs.

I am quite frankly tired of arguing about weather incidents like snow in the Dakotas in June to deny global warming. The Earth is warming up and the cause may be natural and it may be anthropogenic, most likely a combination of the two. As the Earth warms we don't really know the full ramification of it.The best solution would be to make an effort to reduce green house gases and other pollutants, a win win situation.

Psycho - who has said on here that there is no global warming, better said as climate change?

You had put words in other mouths to come up with a statement like "The whole goddamn bunch of you morons."??

Tell us, do you think that the climate has been like this last year for eons??

Or were there changes long before man came on the scene?

Forrest, did I say " made it seem like it proved man made climate change has been proven wrong.that??" No.

Interesting that you asked that, though.

It is new information, not political opinion, but research by an international group of real scientists.

"The entire scientific team is made up of 60 scientists from over 15 different countries and represents scientists at every stage of their career from graduate students to senior professors.

Scientists, drillers, and technical staff participated in live interactive video conferences with enthused students and teachers who learned about the expedition’s discoveries, ocean drilling, and life at sea.

The scientists supported by the UK are Heiko Pälike, Paul Wilson, Edgar Kirsty (National Oceanography Centre, Southampton), Paul Bown and Tom Dunkley Jones (University College London), and Peter Fitch (University of Leicester)."

The article is meant to provide additional information to what we already know.

I believe that the climate is changing.

Do humans really make a difference? I don't know.

Should do our best to conserve what we have? of course.

Does Al Gore deserve millions because he makes a crisis out of a naturally occurring event? You will have to decide for yourself.

Global warming is a misnomer. Climate change is more accurate, because "climate" refers to "The meteorological conditions, including temperature, precipitation, and wind, that characteristically prevail in a particular region."

As for the global warming being the sun's fault: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/05/09051...

Maybe, just maybe, the climate is supposed to change. And if not, then I blame the vapors rising off the crap posted on these boards and a prime cause of global climate warming change.
