Though I do not agree with California's SB 840, at least it seems to follow the 9TH and 10TH Amendments to Our Constitution. As I have stated before, National Health Insurance, of whatever type, would only pass Constitutional Muster providing it went through the Amendment Process as outlined in Article 5.
The Federal Government at present has NO SUCH POWER to enact any such law Constitutionally; the complete distortion of the "Commerce Clause" notwithstanding. It will be interesting to see which part of the Constitution Congress tries to use in "justifying" National Health Care.-

If we have to amend the Constitution I'm willing to support that. This really needs to be a national thing so that people are covered while traveling. San Francisco has health care for all it's citizens. This is great and has been working well but they aren't covered unless they are IN San Francisco.
