The population in Port Orford is relatively small (approximately 1,200). Its economy primarily revolves around commercial fishing and tourism. The port is an open water dock and the only dry-dock port on the west coast. Port Orford is adjacent to Cape Blanco and home to Port Orford Heads State Park.
