    Ya, there called “sound powered phones”. The US Navy has been using them since BEFORE WW2.

    You might also want to contact the operators of the “San Diego Trolley”

    Long stretches of the trolley train tracks run parallel to overhead power transmission lines, when the trolley runs down this line the train becomes in effect a “core” of a transformer.

    The trolley has been running since the early 80’s so there should be a lot of data to analyze.
