"Though I'm not thrilled with her Obama as president..."

--Why can't you say something something positive without slamming Obama or Dems just once, slate? Do you REALLY think anyone on the planet (left or righ) needs to be reminded that you're bitter your party is no longer in power? -

Messo? Tell me something. Since when am I not allowed to preface any comment that I'm not thrilled with someone ANY president has chosen, especially one that will serve their reaming days once given the nod?
Reply
Oh how quickly you forget the last 8 years and your vocal opposition to everything Bush did. See how things are once the party you favor wins and has all the power? You take the usual "it's different now" approach. -

It’s amazing how your mind works messo, putting things in it I don’t write.

Slate say does “if she is qualified give her the nod”. Messo’s mind translates it to "Duhhh...Obama reeeeally sucks and whatnot but..."
Slate says “I love Ice cream” Messo’s mind translates it to "Duhhh...Obama reeeeally sucks and whatnot but..."
Slate says “kittens are soooo cuddly”. Messo’s mind translates it to "Duhhh...Obama reeeeally sucks and whatnot but..."
And so forth.

Good luck with that, Mitch.

I can't believe every single Republican senator would vote against closing debate unless Sotomayor makes a huge mistake during the confirmation hearings, and that's what it would take to filibuster. The Republicans are just not as solidly unified as they once were, and blocking Sotomayor's confirmation that way would only bolster the Republicans' image as obstructionists. -

McConnell is an embarrassment and, like Specter, his number one concern is his seat. He's only spouting off because he knows that's what the base wants to see. Rather than do the decent and honorable thing (why not just say that you're gonna ask her lots of tough questions and leave it at that?) his approach is to blow smoke so his few diehard supporters can get aroused and say they stood up to Obama. Remember, with cons, it's all about the superficial. Let's see...What can we spin this week? Oh... we're gonna slam Obama for speaking well with a teleprompter and claim that Bush's *inability* to speak English with or without a teleprompter is noble, courageous, charming, winsome, folksy, plucky, quaint...all those kind of lovable terms. McConnell's a complete disgrace and couldn't care less that he is turning off women and latino and hispanic voters.

Mitch the white supremacist right wing beautch, is just appeasing his base there in Kentucky, a red state tobacco producer with a shrinking population of ignorant bible thumping racist hicks. Shrinking in relation to the growing hispanic and educated white population.

Mitch McConell looks like what he is, an old white bitter southern jackarse, addicted to his government job, relying on his base of evangelical teliban hatemongering hicks. -

I hope they DO try to fillibuster her, I wanna see them attempt it with everything they've got, I want them to block her for as many days as they can with as much derisive, devisive partisan rhetoric as they can muster up. I wanna hear racial slurs and dirty words and chauvinistic language!

Because every single syllable is another nail into the neoconservative and right wing coffins.
I'm reminded of that Family Guy cutaway about Texans being more stubborn than a mule and the Kevin Bacon in Footloose joke (just replace that with any right-wing talking point and pretend the Mule is a Republican and it's hillarious and infuriating at the same time).
