    It's hard for me to imagine rowing up in a family with one parent who believed the way von Brunn did., and von Brunn's son was quite young when his father went to prison, so there was even less time for them to be together.

    I think he's lucky he didn't end up like his father, with the same beliefs. I guess the old phrase "like father, like son" doesn't always apply, thank goodness...

      The fact that his father was in prison until he was 11 could have saved him from a life of hatred and bigotry. He got lucky there.
