Posted By metavirus 7 months, 4 weeks ago in Political NewsRepublican Sen. John Ensign of Nevada is admitting he had an extramarital affair with a member of his campaign staff.

whenever a story like this pops up, I tend to think it doesn't matter if the person in question had an affair - as it pertains to that person being able to do their job competently. I mean, I don't care if my tax accountant is having an affair, as long as he gets my taxes done right and I get a refund.

but in this case, when I hear that Ensign was a big supporter for an amendment to the Constitution that would have defined marriage as a union between only a man and a woman, I just have to think this guy is a giant, lying, hypocritical turd of a human.
if anyone is interested in protecting the sanctity of marriage, its guys like Ensign who are the real danger, since they are willing to say outwardly that marraige is defined as this and only this, then turns around privately and sh*ts all over the institution he's trying to control and define.
what an asssshole.-

Eleven years ago, Ensign voted to impeach President Bill Clinton on two counts related to the cover-up of his affair with Monica Lewinsky. Five years ago, Ensign took to the floor of the Senate and said this:
"Marriage recognizes the ideal of a father and mother living together to raise their children. Marriage is the cornerstone on which our society was founded. For those who say that the Constitution is so sacred that we cannot or should not adopt the Federal Marriage Amendment, I would simply point out that marriage, and the sanctity of that institution, predates the American Constitution and the founding of our nation. Marriage, as a social institution, predates every other institution on which ordered society in America has relied."

He's qualified to be a Democratic president...if he were gay, he could work in Barney Frank's bordello - or at least, use Barney's services...

He'll catch hell because he's a Republican - Democrats get praised and/or re-elected...
One of these days I would LOVE to see the wife of the jerk just
kick the crap out of them on live news...I think they go too far with this "forgive me, I got caught"/Clinton excuse...we still want to know what the meaning of 'is' is...-

Yeah, I just love the free ride John Edwards got from his party when the news of his infidelity hit the news. lol. It's not the infidelity that bothers me (we are all prone to temptations), it's the hypocrisy of a person who says do what I say, not what I do.

With the threat of blackmail, Ensign either had to pay or come clean. Cheap bastard. lol. -
