As we approach this longest and shortest day of the year, we are
well aware of the effect of light on us, no matter which hemisphere
we finds ourselves in. We rejoice in fullness of summer, drinking in
enough light to last us through the days to come. In winter we
celebrate the return of the longer days, realizing each day brings
more light.

Here's a sermon of Meiho's, considered to be one of the best writings on zazen ever presented by a Japanese Zen master.
