      Of course, this could be just a ploy on the part of the Communists, simply to attract people to their cause. In the US, where the vast majority of the people are religious, relying on atheists only is a losing proposition.

      More seriously though, Communism is primarily an economic theory: each according to his ability and to each according to his needs, or something like that. It deals primarily with the ownership of the means of production and the distribution of the goods produced. The existence or nonexistence of God is side issue, focused on mainly by religious Americans. Besides, isn't Christianity founded on similar principles, like sharing and helping each other?
