It is sad when the elderly of any socitey are neglected and mistreated.  It is different than it was in days of ole, when elderly relatives were an intracal part of the family, living at home until their deaths.  Now we live life at break neck speed and husbands and wives work to care for their younger children, making it difficult to keep elderly parents at home.

    Personally, I'd prefer to spend taxpayers' money improving life in old peoples' homes than giving gyms and other unnecessary luxuries to prisons.
