This is how a theocracy works. Ahmadinejad is not by any means the most powerful figure in Iran. Regardless of idealogy we should all be glad we were not born into such a culture. One which you are essentially required to follow dogma from ancient times.

Religion is the poison of the world. It has particularly poisoned Western Asia and the West. We have said it over and over again that if you rely on imaginary deities to protect yourself you will eventually pay the price. That there is a danger to this foolishness. Mankind needs to start dealing with reality. This has been the downfall of many a civilization. It will be the downfall of Iran.

You want the potential for such a society in America support Sarah Palin. Her YouTube speech to her church youth group isn't that far from the line of reasoning used this morning. God will provide. Unquestioned fealty to the one God is required for the state to advance forward. It's insanity!

We are lucky not to be born in Iran.It must be particularly awful,if you are an atheist,an agnostic,or of another religion.I'm not a member of any religion, but I'm happy to let people believe whatever they want,as long as they don't force their beliefs on anyone else.In Iran ,you have to be seen to believe, whatever the theocracy dictates to be correct. It can change from month to month!
I do agree that religion is diversive and in general is backward looking.I hope the Iranian people have a better future.Firstly they had the corrupt Shah, them this medieval regime. They certainly need a break!!!

      action@votersforpeace.org
This is what I learned from voters for peace:

"First, I want to thank the thousands of you who took action to stop the war funding bill. The House of Representatives narrowly approved the $106 billion in supplemental funding for the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan by a narrow vote of 226 to 202."
My question is...how is this vote called the majority? How could it possibly be anything but the refuted?
In informal logic an objection (also called expostulation or refutation), is a reason arguing against a premise, lemma or main contention. ...
