i asked a friend of mine who lives in cairo the other day what the word on the street was about obama's visit and speech. he said that other than the inconvenience created by the whole heavy duty security circus coming to town, his speech was received with a ho-hum yawn as more of the same-oh same-oh and that no one's either fooled or excited by it. what they were grateful for is that at least the garbage was cleared away for a few days
