It's silent, it's pollution free, it's nippy, and it'll get you round town for £ 2,500 a year, fuel and maintenance included. So, is it the car of the future? Maybe.

The advantages of the Riversimple, assuming it lives up to everything claimed by the makers, are considerable. It can reach a top speed of 50mph, which is comparable to that of the electric G-Wiz, but with a carbon fibre body and a much lighter fuel cell than in other hydrogen vehicles it is claimed to have a range on one fuel charge of 240 miles – five times the distance the G-Wiz can travel before recharging.

I hope this works out it could change everything!

50 MPH beats walking around looking for gas.

        2,500 pounds per year??

My 1990 Honda Accord costs less than that (fuel and maintenance included). This doesn't sound like a promising technology. Why would anyone give up the convenience of longer range, more filling stations, higher top speed (yes, my daily commute is on a road with a 60mph limit), for a car that costs MORE?

I'm still looking at electric cars as being the most viable alternative. Once they hit market, competition should bring battery technology up in a big way, and drive down its costs. Current hydrogen technology involves burning something to generate electricity, using the electricity to separate the hydrogen, burning the hydrogen to re-generate electricity to power the car. It adds the benefit of quicker fill-ups, but energy is lost with each conversion.

If getting from one place to another at the lowest possible cost, there are many alternatives.

I enjoy driving a nice vehicle ... my idea of a small car is a Porsche. It gets good mileage and makes the trip fun.

I think Hydrogen power cars may be the future. The trouble is,as this article says, setting up a refueling infrastructure. There are a fair few electric cars, here in London, but their big draw back,is the 50-100 mile range.240 miles covers over 80% of a Europeans daily journeys, though it is probably lower in the States.

My Fellow Americans: Yeh Man, I can't wait to get into one of those 250 mile Electric Easter Eggs. I know a lot of the Rich Loyal Damocrats that live in these big Expensive Condos and They plan on buying a bunch of them. I've been kinda on the cusp of buying or not buying one. Basically I really don't know if the Trunk or is that the Glove Compartment can hold the 2,000 Foot Extension Cord which would run from my 10th Floor Party Residence. I hope everyone is as excited as myself.

I guess our President can not wait to get his hands on one because he must get tired of riding around in those great big Limos. I can see him now zooming around the Go Cart Track hunting down Flies. What a Guy. Can't you see it right now. The President showing up at the Oscars in one of these. An now Ladies and Gentlemen may I present the President of the United pulling up right now in the Electric Tomatomobile, Barrack H. Obama. Oh Yes, and right behind him in the Electric Radishmobile is the first lady, Michelle Obama. Aren't these people wonderful? The Real American
