So what? When did it become illegal to carry cash with you traveling inside the US. I can think of many situations, where someone may have large amounts of cash in their possetion. TSA is screening for safety related issues, not whether or not you may or may not be a criminal. He was totally out of order, and shold be dissmissed, as should some ofthe other law enforcement agents.
Why didn't he just tell them? Good question, but again, when did we become obliged to answer those kind of questions from a TSA agent? It's called individual choise, and who's to say this guy just wanted to see how far they would go. He had a clear concience with nothing to hide.
This just shows what a monster was created in the name of protecting the public. It's gone totally overoard and beyond reason. Security is needed, but someone needs to sit down and take a look at making some common sense rules, and discard all the bs.

The best thing to do when a law man catches you for *anything* is to answer his questions straight-forward, don't confuse him, don't argue with him - if he insults/scolds you, just let him. If he gives you a ticket, let him - he usually doesn't have the final say in the matter - then you can file a complaint against him.

If you try to run, you give him free reign to taze you.

Way too many cops let their status go to their head. Instead of just enforcing the law, protecting and serving, they turn out to be bullies. What they probably don't realize is that they represent the town/city/agency for which they are working. When they are jerks, they make their employers look like jerks just the same.
