A plea deal that sent an ex-convict accused of raping a 4-year-old girl to jail for only a year has prompted outrage across Oklahoma, where lawmakers are calling for the removal of the judge who approved the deal and the attorney general is investigating a new set of abuse allegations.

    It sounds like the DA wasn't confident that he could get a conviction. It could work out ok though if the Attorney Generals investigation turns up more abuse then he would have to serve the suspended portion of the sentence.

      I don't think that abuse or other crimes prior to the current conviction could get the probation revoked. But if they find other charges to file, they could run consecutively with this case. But, rules of probation are pretty strict....if he is even 1 day late reporting to his probation officer or commits any other crime, even a misdemeaner, I'm sure they will revoke. He has a year to do in prison....it won't be pretty if the other inmates get hold of him.

      I don't see why the child would have to face him in court, there was talk of taping her testimony so she wouldn't have to face him or the intimidation of open court.
