Is the bigger crime other nations calling crap on us. Or is your party no better than when the Iranian dictator gets a majority where both counts amount to over 100% of the votes. Complain about how a supreme council decided their was no vote fraud or recount. At the time tell us what you think of our domestic supreme council who over ruled a recount because they were conservatives and thats the way its going to be. F Scalia!

Why is it foolish, in America, to express one's opinion?
Reply
If you're a pseudo-con is it because Rush might unleash the content of his anal cyst on you?
Otherwise I guess it depends on what your opinion is and where you decide to express it. I mean if it's your opinion that the n-word is okay to use in public, it would be foolish to express that in say Harlem......not so foolish in say Vidor Tx.

Doing nothing is the right thing to do. Whether or not the election was fair is a problem for Iranians not anyone else. What would have happened if the election of Bush (which some people thought was not above board) was protested by the people and violence broke out. Would it be ok for Canada..Britain..Russia to come and side with losing side?

The Iranian election of course. We know that there was an election, we know that the ruling party was declared the winner, we know that the losing party claims fraud and we know that there were/are demonstrations for both sides. What we don't know is who is right and which group of protesters represent the will of the Iranians.
Reply
What Endoscopy implied was that by siding with the losing party and condemning the Iranian government would be simply calling a spade a spade, or stating the obvious truth, rather than interfering in their internal affairs. Do we know what the truth is?

Obama knows how to play world poker. W did not. Bin Ladins attack was based on that he knew W would overreact and Bin Ladin played W like a bitch and won more failure on our country and opportunity for himself than he could have imagined. Here we have the Iranians in the reverse. The neocon Iranians need a foreign attack to galvanize the citizenry to oppose a foreign power instead of looking at their own incompetence. Just like what a big boost 9/11 was to W. What do you say about a president where the best thing that ever happened to him was reading a childrens book while terrorists attacked us? This is what Iran needs and our leftover shamed republican party is trying to do. Iran and the republicans share the same goals. They need some fighting to stay in power. Obama isn't biting. He just isn't dumb like W.

Well said. There is nothing like a common enemy to solve a dispute. Obama is not giving Iran that common enemy. The insurgency and growth of terrorism in Iraq was the result of a common enemy being created. The West does not need any more bad press.

Or more specifically, a Real Conservative who believes America should keep it's nose out of other countries business!
Only the Neocons, with their distorted vision of America's place in the world, would argue for the kind of meddling Obama is speaking of.-

What really happened is that The Repugs seized on an opportunity they thought would be a good attack event on Obama. I think that Obama should have said " Since we have had elections that were robberies of the voters, we would be hypocrites to stick our nose into their criminal element when we have our own", but he didn't say what he should have said.
Reply
And just think, if we supported the dissidents in Iran, then the next time one of our two major Parties in the U S steals the next election, our actions today might inspire our people to riot.
Maybe Obama is smarter than the most intelligent GOP dum-dum's realized.
Everyone should realize that the GOP plan for a "Better America" is an America without Obama and one with a new Bush in the White House. The people wouldn't be better off, but that wouldn't mean a damn thing to the Repubs. When did they ever think of the good of the people of America?-

If there is a next time, I hope our people ARE inspired to riot. It's time for we Americans to stand up and demand our rights and protest loudly the royal screwing we have gotten over the years. At least with our current President, we can feel more inspired to celebrate rather than riot!

I do not agree with Patrick Buchanan's overall isolationism... which is root of his stance on this and many other issues.
Iran is decidedly a different situation than Iraq was, partly because we are in Iraq... obviating the danger Iraq had been to Iran. Iraq can no longer be used by the mullahs as a factor to mobilize the population.
As a different situation, Iran clearly needs to be handled differently.-

I do not see how isolationism can work these days. Food, Oil, Manufacturing, IT, Corporations, Finance, even armies can now be bought online ala Blackwater. The supernational comapanies are going to be the next big players against nation or in the worst case like China a completely fascist government bent on world domination.

Obummer seems to be in kind of "a pickle" with this Iran thing. For one thing, it sounds like the Iranians are fighting to put in power another bad guy picked by the Mullahs. Plus, if the guy they were fighting for WAS actually a free world friendly Democrat, guess what? The Mullahs would probably crack down harder ON the Iranians for being puppets of the US IF Obummer said he was going to help them fight the other puppet (Ahmadinajad). It seems to me that Obummer would sign their death warrants IF he came out and said he was going to help any democracy movement in Iran and the Mullahs actually believed him.

Of course Obama or Bush always does a fantastic job when it comes to a Muslim country that refuses to follow the Western way of handling things. What supposed to have happened in Iran had happened in the other parts of the puppet regime like Egypt and also there is no election in Saudi Arabia, since they are the lackeys of America, American leaders maintain absolute silence on anything that happens there. America also keep silent whatever the Israelis do; Israelis kill people and destroys homes and farm lands on a daily basis but America supports and encourages them to continue. What is happening in Iran is just an isolated or misguided action of the Western brainwashed herds who want to follow so called American Democracy and freedom, which considers those who are not with them are axis of evil or they are with the terrorists. So I don't consider or believe whether Democratic party or the Republican party has any right to make any comment on Iran or any other country because they don't comment or speak against the criminal actions of Israel or their puppets in the region. America and other Western countries are occupiers and oppressors and they are the biggest hypocrites and they just pay lip service to Democracy. -

My Fellow Americans: Obama is always going to do nothing. If it turns out for the better he will take the credit for supposedly doing nothing. Yet, he and Ahmadinajad had all this worked out when he visited the Middle East and talked behind closed doors. This is just what they both want and the Media won't report the true story. This is Obama siding with the most vile individual on the planet. Is this the kind of President we expected when he was elected?
Reply
Yes, Obama supports more despotic governments and does not support governments intent on being peaceful. This all fits into his plans to rule the world. Remember the last time we saw an individual such as this? Unfortunately the answer is no for most Americans.
Americans who have gone to our colleges and were preached to about how evil America is and has been. Yet, they enjoy the best standard of living in the world with the most freedom in the history of the world. Brainwashing from the same institutions that are supposed to teach higher forms of education instead of radial ideas. Hopefully they will soon view what is really happening in this country before it is complete destroyed with this new form of destructive change.

You've got that right, Icantwait, they have already started by saying what is happening in Iran is because of Obumba's speech in Cairo. You know what they say in the White House, "never let a crisis go to waste." Or a lie isn't really a lie if you believe it when you tell it.

So you agree with Icantwait's statement. That is interesting...most of what he said has absolutely no facts to support his claims.... in other words a product of a twisted mind. Regarding Obama's speech in Cairo .... most found it a step in the right direction.... a change from past actions that have lead the West deeper and deeper into the dark. I believe there are those that like and foster this type of mentality .... I would refer to them as T otally S tuned. Yes brain washing comes in many forms and I believe you have been taken to the cleaners in that respect. Did you ever stop and think about how the West got into the position it is in today. Do you really think repeating the same actions will result in a different outcome? Did you ever hit your finger with a hammer... would you do it again on purpose and hope for a moment of pleasure.

Funny, that's what happens when you have a brain that never fully developed and what's left of it is filled up with $hit from the right.

One thing We, Iran and the rest of the world MUST realize. This is Iran's problem and Iran must solve it. There is alot on the table here for Iran and the rest of the world,BUT we as out siders can only allow these events that are going on in Iran now to play themselves out. To much said, or actions taken could have a negative effect for the opposition.
Reply
If the current regime crushes this movement and continues on with its current nucleur program and threats to the world, then it will be time for other actions. Until then though, we need to give the people of Iran the right and respect to try to solve this problem themselves. -

As a non-American who has spent alot of time in America, I am always fascinated by these debates. America has a very long, bipartisan, history of interfering ion the internal affairs of other countries. I always wonder what criteria are used to select the countries in which interference is allowed or accepted. Is it political/economic expediency, human rights, democracy or flavor of the day? It definitely has nothing to do with doing the right thing.

In the basement of the pentagon is a huge room.

The whole floor is a map of the world.
In a secret ceremony, the new president places a live chicken on the map.
He then reads aloud the entire Monroe Docrine.
At the last word, a hawk is released by the Chief of Staff.
If the hawk attacks and eats the chicken,
- the US will attack and occupy the area on the map where the birds interacted.
That is where we get the term 'chicken-hawk'.
Don't tell. -

ok but it will be better if America help to remove one crazy regime holder, people would appreciate, ultimately one victory in a war will lead to another war, that is historical precedents, but I thin and many would agree with this that this way is better then to live in constant fear of eventuality, there is no question of "if" here, it is going to unfold anyway, the only question is when
