First Unitarian Church of Honolulu

JERUSALEM – The Hawaii church where President Obama attended Sunday school as a boy has "always" been involved in political activism, the church's pastor told WND in an interview. -If you really want an eye opener of where Obama get's his skewed religious views, check out the website of the Church that trained him in religion. Not Christianity. Religion. http://www.uua.org/

Now I understand why Obama is calling America a Christian, Muslim, Buddist, Secular, etc. Nation. It's because the UUA 'church' taught him, as a child, some really weird and heretical stuff. Obama claims to be a Christian, However if one visits the following website; http://www.uua.org/ , one can get an understanding of where his belief system was partially formed. We can also attribute Islam and the belief systems of Rev. Jeramiah Wright to have had influences on Obama's belief and value system. Obama appears to be of a Heinz 57 type when it comes to beliefs and philsophies. Scary stuff.

How did this story get on the front page with only six props? Is it because it is so wonderfully harebrained?

This article is a great reminder of why we need to support the separation of church and state.

I have said it time and again, Christians greatest enemy are fellow Christians. And yes, Unitarians are as much Christians as Methodists, Baptists, Snakehandlers, Catholics, or Mormons.

Conservative fears never change. They go to sleep at night tossing and turning, tortured (pun) by the thought that someone might actually be doing something against their religion.

The motto on the penny used to say "mind your own business," which is very good advice.

I don't care if Obummer was a member of this church. I don't care if he was a Muhammadan. I DO care that he attended a racist, anti-American, Nation of Islam like "church" for 20 years and LIED about it not hearing anything anti-American being preached in it.

Another tempest in a tea pot. I would regard this as less disturbing that Bush seniors membership in the Bohemian grove where people of real power gather in the wilderness for God knows what.

Ayers is irrelevant and so is reverend Wright. All of us, unless we live in a cave and are hermits, have probably associated with people of extreme views. Knowing people with extreme views and being influenced by or sharing them are two very different matters. Guilt by association is a well know logical fallacy and not a very formidable argument against ones character unless you can point to some specific action or point of view that this person shares in common that is generally regarded as negative. Working with Mr. Ayers to bring funding for schools is hardly in the same league as trying to blow stuff up or bring down the government. Many people were radical when they were young. To assume that Obama wants to destroy America because Wright has some inflammatory rhetoric about this country is inane. I guess since Falwell and Robertson said that 9/11 was God's punishment of America for tolerating liberals, gays, and feminists means that all on the Christian right believe this. I guess because Ronald Reagan left a wreath of flowers at Bittburg on the graves of the Waffen SS in Germany that the right forgives the Nazis. It would be the same logic applied.

Ah yes, Unitarian fruit cakes, explains a lot. And the grandparents learned nothing; they lost their daughter and yet they put their grandson into the same screwy church. Liberals are bent on eradicating themselves, must feel really guilty about something.

Inactive, so you left Digg because people called you names and didn't "debate" etc. You've been here on Prop just a little over a week and you've already managed to post an article that more members found offensive or inappropriate by an almost two to one margin. Perhaps you might start looking at yourself instead of others as being the problem. If that doesn't work why not save yourself some time and effort and go post on Stormfront or one of the many similar radical right blogs where you will be more readily accepted.

Yep, going to a Universal Unity Church that cares about all people and is inclusive will certainly do it — you'll have your eyes opened to caring for all people and respecting them. These churches are often found near universities because intelligent people like them. And their ministers are kind people who are very good at listening to you and caring for your soul. Yep, that would be enough to orient any young person toward caring about the entire human family and we can certainly see now how Obama got his perspective of peace on earth.
