Hi Pupi!!

You had an amazing experience and treat for sure if you had a wild sighting!!
There are a lot in the South where you are and Alligator Alley is where a lot get hit. They have been building underpass' there and on other roads to stop the accidents and it is working.
Treasure that sighting, there are less than 100 left in the wild.

The only "Black Panthers" were sighted in the Chicago area....there is no such thing as animal wise as a "Black Panther".

A "Couger", aka "Mountain Lion" are the big cats that live out west. A "Florida Panther" lives in the South East only roaming in Florida now.
A black big cat is actually a "Leopard" with a reverse pigmentation. When you look at the black cat you can see the even blacker spots on them.
Florida Panthers are much smaller than the Western Cougar and have a different colored coat, more grey hues. They also have much bigger feet for swamp walking and love to swim. There has never been a documented attack on a human by a Florida Panther because they are smaller and really skittish.
I have been fortunate enough to have had a wild sighting!!! -
