My Man was treated in Canada for prostate cancer.
The HIFU which is beginning to be tested in USA. Is just beginning. AMA must keep that money coming in.

His PSA, has been well below average for 4 years!
Look up HIFU, go there, you will not be sorry!

I have heard studies to support toph1973, I haven't heard any to support earthlinger. I do believe that the prostate would know the difference between storing material that is getting old and not

I am a survivor so far. I had a total removal of the prostate and after a year the cancer showed its' ugly head. I then had 38 radiation treatments which killed my bladder and was welcomed to the world of incontinence. August of '08 they removed my bladder and what cancer was around. Just had left kidney removed and appreciate the day with my urostomy and pouch. I give thanks for every day I live and yet my cancer, PSA is up again and chemo treatments are taken. It's still great to be on this earth. There are a great number of people who are worse off than I. A cheery outlook always helps. No, I am not Johnny sunshine, I have my days, but nothing is accomplished if you feel down and out about yourself. mike

My dad had the seed implant done in 1997 and did super with it. His PSA started to rise 6 years later when he was 75 and he stated hormone supplements and that did the job to bring the PSA down, however he developed osteoporosis and needed to take calcium supplements. Unfortunately at that time he stopped doing all the things he loved, developed a depression and lost 50 lbs in the course of 6 months. He has remained stable with the PSA but has no interest in former things he found enjoyable. Bottom line, PSA is a number, 3% of men will die from it, and most older men die with it and not from it!
