Posted By david_nwpa 4 months, 2 weeks ago in Family(CNN) -- The art of dodging tossed wedding bouquets had been mastered by Cindy Pollard. At 52, and with plenty of experience celebrating the big day for others, she'd learned how to back into corners and disappear when brides sent those flowers flying.

Iowans have been fighting for civil rights longer than some states have even been a part of the Union. They have a long heritage of respecting one another and living peacefully with one another. Hence, they are neither a blue nor red state as much as they are a civil state. My fear is that some gay couples in Iowa will postpone their weddings, only to have Republicans regain the legislature. Kudos again to Iowa!

You can have the senators arrested, you can force them behind locked doors for weeks, you can force them to take their political medicine, but you can not force them to make homosexual love with each other, even if such, is a gift from god, and not a serious physical and psychological disease. -

I am completely and utterly baffled by the people who post their comments on my threads convinced that being gay equates to being mentally ill. Nothing could be further from the truth. Gays and lesbians are not automatically mentally ill, any more than being evangelical Christian makes one pious and worthy of heaven. Many gay men prefer monogamy as much as many straight men do. We seek the opportunity to wed the partner of our choice, with all the rights and responsibilities that society offers straight couples. We seek the opportunity to enter the military and valiantly serve our nation without having to hide a significant portion of who we are, and the people we love. We demand an end to discrimination solely for existing.

In Pennsylvania, State Senator Eichelberger reported on WHYY a few days ago, that the hate-filled bill he seeks to pass in PA which would ban same-sex marriage actually was written to allow gay couples "to exist." We do not need that bigotry in our government nor in people who post to these threads. Seeking rational inquiry as to why gays and lesbians are the way they are is fine. Degrading gays and lesbians based solely on sexual acts is insipid and hurtful. I call upon Petesake and others like him to cease his tirades and stop the name calling. Otherwise, I am certain he has in some way violated the ToS here on Propeller.-

"to exist"... seriously? Oh wow he's ALLOWING us to exist? Who died and made him God?

He has no say whether or not we exist. If he believes he gets to decide who "exists" then someone needs to make sure HE doesn't because that's a sign of a Sociopath. I believe they call it Messiah Complex
