Have you ever seen a mountaintop removal mine & the surrounding areas? Being from WV, I've seen & heard about them - the massive multi-ton boulders flying through the air & crushing people's homes, the once-clear springs, streams, creeks & rivers unusable, etc., etc., etc.

& I heard of a report on my way into work that directly contradicts the "Coal is good for the WV economy" claims - can't remember who did it tho.
People losing their lives & homes, the lands being devestated, & the waters being poisoned. Not to mention the total destruction of the mountains themselves.-

apparently, you haven't seen the "victims", or the innocent bystanders, miles from any mine. people have lost lives, homes, lands, rivers & other waterways. erossion, flooding, a wall of slurry burying a town, disease, & on....

My sister used to work for a law firm that did a lot with coal miners & unions. the stories they told & the pictures she took were just sad.
