Remove the stopper usually by turning counter clockwise, or the grid strainer if you have a trip lever. It usually just has a screw. Remove the overflow cover if you have a trip lever and pull out the plug linkage. Using an ordinary pair of pliers unscrew the strainer from the bottom of the tub. When you pull it out the hairball (It's always a hairball on tubs) should come out. Just clean it out and reassemble. Use plumbers putty to seal the strainer flange. It takes about 10-15 minutes. I just saved you at least 75 bucks. You're welcome. -
