I have always maintained that there are no ex-gays....only those who hate themselves so much that they are willing to deny who they really are. You cannot change your sexual orientation. It is what is... the only "choice" a gay person has is to either accept it and live life as your personal nature dictates or to live in denial.

Pedophilia, yes. Usually, it is comorbid with sociopathy, and other forms of emotional and social dysfunction. Their view of reality has no empathy with their victims.
The DSM de-listed homosexuality as a mental disorder in the 80s. There was simply no concomitant emotional or social dysfunction that would qualify homosexuality medically as a disease, illness, or other disorder. The preference is recognized to be sexually <i><deviant</i> from the norm, to be sure, but that is not a pejorative judgment. Not to oversimplify, but homosexuality is no more an 'illness' than foot fetishism, or preferring women with enormous breasts (BTW, Freud had LOTS to say on that matter).

Many of the Southern Baptists churches have these gay to straight programs. There are even billboards promoting these groups. Don't they realize that about 10% of the population has been homosexual since recorded history began. It is not a choice. It would be like taking me, a left hander and tying my arm behind my back and forcing me to use my right. They used to do this in public schools in the early and mid 20th Century.

There are Straights, GLBTQEtc, and Child Molesters. They are in a category of their own, and what they do is not okay nor is it defendable. Nor is it okay to compare them to gays OR straights because neither group is at fault for the child molesters (at the same time, neither group is blameless 100% either).
I suggest you not ever compare gays to child molesters ever again, people might mistake you for an ass and a fool. -

"Charges in 2005
On September 2, 2005, a complaint was filed with the Superior Court of California, County of Sonoma, accusing Manning of one count of violating CA Penal Code 243.4(e)(1).
Any person who touches an intimate part of another person, if the touching is against the will of the person touched, and is for the specific purpose of sexual arousal, sexual gratification, or sexual abuse, is guilty of misdemeanor sexual battery, punishable by a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars ($2,000), or by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding six months, or by both that fine and imprisonment.
The complainant is listed as “John Doe” but we have since determined his identity. He was approx 22 years old at the time, and still lives in the area. We have contacted him and may provide his personal account at a later date if he allows it. He appears understandably reticent concerning such a personal matter. We should note that he identifies as straight.
No jury trial this time. On November 30, 2005, again represented by Jeffrey Cohen, Manning pleaded “No Contest” to a single count of violating CA Penal Code 647(a), a lesser count and the same he was charged with in 2000. He also escaped a listing on the sexual offender registry. "

The guy has a record that screams sexual predator. It seems he's gotten away without paying much of a penalty or punishment by playing the justice system, so far. I hope his luck runs out and the next jurors see him for what he is: a sex offender.

The story gets weirder. I am working on another story about Matthew Manning that is potentially even more salacious. A mother claims she lost her two sons to Manning's "brainwashing", convincing them they were sexually abused through "repressed memory recovery". Manning has legally adopted the two men and changed their names to Zacharia and Joshua Manning. He constantly gets restraining orders against the parents to keep them away from the men. The parents say they are desperate to have their children back.
