China and Russia Back US on North Korea. Is North Korea In More Trouble than Iraq was? »

Posted By WikiMap 5 months ago in News

The UN Security Council unanimously passed UN Resolution 1874 to put sanctions on North Korea. This action will still not stop small arms shipments into North Korea but all weapon shipments out of the North will stop. Not only is nuclear material or missiles banned, but all shipments of weapons by North Korea. This resolution is tougher than the 2006 one but now is backed by both Russia and China.

They are the first who may get troubled.

Sanctions without teeth. North Korean ships will refuse inspections and sail on laughing all the way.

Given the UN resolution and the potential threat of long range missiles reaching Hawaii and the bellicose position of North Korea particularly a nuclear armed North Korea, the US should use the resolution as a statement of world principle and stop the ships. The US is in a bind due to our last president who acted in a very rash manner on issues involving no threat to the US. We are stretched too thin militarily in Iraq and Afghanistan, and with our other commitments around the world. Having said that we need to do the right thing to corral North Korea. Stopping their ship or ships would bring the issue to a point requiring the backing of China and Russia. Both Russia and China understand our limitations and our potential in this matter. Neither China nor Russia would want war in that region. I believe our stopping the ships, though provocative, would give China and Russia the motivation to intervene with North Korea is a much more visible and forceful manner.

My Fellow Americans: The problem is not them shipping nuclear weapons out of their country but rather launching them out. China going against North Korea, dream on, they would even contribute troops if anything arose between North and South Korea. Don't you remember Viet Nam when they had troops helping out the Viet Cong.

Sure, we can depend on Russia, knowing that their man in charge would love to see us terminated.

Can we depend on our President? Depends, that is what he will be wearing if he has to make a manly decision. He talks a big show but he is all show. However, if for some reason some other country intervenes and solves this problem, I'm sure he will take credit for it as he always does. Remember the Pirate situation that he had nothing to say about it but took credit for supposedly giving the command that ended it Right!

The Ill guy tested the world and sent out a vessel with what was to have contained a nuclear device. It was clear sailing this time and the test was passed. Not one country stood in opposition to prevent the ships movement. Cowardly President, cowardly administration, cowardly surrounding countries. Now, he knows it and will bank on it next time. So What Next? The Real American

North Korea warns of terrible concequences to those who oppose them. They are a bug buzzing around our head and we don't want to take the time to swat them. So many other great things to do in the world besides invade N. Korea.
They are just upset that the entire world sees them as that bug.
