In my opinion, this young man was abused in the name of religion. The zealots use the cloak of religion to escape prosecution from what was clearly a hate crime. I highly doubt this young man came to them for "treatment," rather I suspect they took him against his will. Being gay is not a mental illness, nor is it some sort of demonic possession. These idiotic religious cults will continue to abuse children as long as they are sheltered and allowed to do so. The states are afraid to step up and accuse these villains in court as they should be tried.

I believe he would have come to them for treatment. If he was in a Church that preached that kind of homophobia, and found himself increasingly attracted to other men, it would be frightening for him. Since no amount of WANTING to stop that attraction was working, and he knew that he was a good person, his indoctrination might lead him to believe that it must be the work of some demon.

It's BS, and extremely sad, because there's no way it will make him straight, even if that's what he wants. What it might do is be sufficiently traumatic for him to want to avoid it again at all costs and therefore pretend that those feelings don't exist and bottle them up inside.

And a "homosexual demon?" Whatinthehell is that about? Oh wait, I think there were a couple on the TV show, "Reaper." Better fashion sense than the straight demons - and they had a great apartment! -

Who negs this story? Honestly, who negs a story in which the child is so clearly being abused solely for a part of his existence? This is happening too frequently for the states to continue looking the other way, and yet, this story is being negged by DWalla. Give it time, and wolfie2007 will drop it too.

I unblocked you Hobe, long enough to read your post. I read it, and frankly, I cannot understand any of it. Not for lack of trying, either, as I read your material twice. First, ad hominem attacks against me do not confront the gist of the article and are automatically discredited. Second, I have a decent moral compass, whatever that is. I prefer to think of myself as "live and let live." In other words, I do not cast aspersions on your life or the way you live it.

I have said repeatedly on Propeller and elsewhere, that being gay is as much a choice as being straight. When did you choose your sexual identity? Simply put, you did not.
I have no objections to people who want to practice religion peacefully. However, I have a considerable problem when people use religion as a cloak or shield for violent actions. Committing child abuse or blowing up a mosque certainly qualifies as lacking a moral compass. No matter how important one thinks it is to kill for Allah, Jesus, or any other deity, it is not.
