When it comes to tertiary level training in the facilities management and property services industry, the choice for those already on the job can be limited.

To gain an insight into the needs of the industry, the International College of Management Sydney (ICMS), conducted some research earlier this year.

The resulting report entitled ‘Understanding Staff Training Needs in the Property Industry’, revealed important information that has allowed the College to transform its course offerings.

Surveying key ‘decision-makers’ in the industry (directors, general managers etc), the report found that over half of all respondents believe that there is a lack of good tertiary courses for those who have risen through the ranks in the industry`. 71% believe that their organisation would benefit from having more employees with a tertiary qualification specialising in Property Services or Facilities Management.
