- is what lengths we will go to remove ourselves from it.
The hi-tech lure of killing from a distance
in a sanitized way that does not call for us to be present,
- goes back at least to the carpet-bombing of vietnam.
Button-pushing warfare frequently kills the wrong people.
If the goal of the war is to convince a populace you are the good guy, you lose.
Pushing a button to wrack up body-count points
reduces war to a video game.
It isn't real, and you won't win.-

What's 60 times 72? That's a lot of virgins IF it's true that a Muhammadan goes straight TO the virgins if he is killed by an infidel in war. Of course, though, when listening to your average Muhammadan complaining about America or Israel killing Muhammadans in war, man, you get the feeling it's the total opposite. That America or Israel is sending them all to hell with each bomb or bullet.

Imagine this: Me supporting Barrak Obama-- He promised he would bring us an honorable peace in Iraq and kill Usama Bin Ladin. I don't remember the time or place, but that's what he said. If he does it I will be impressed.

But that's not what I see happening. I see us preparing to be Saigoned in both Bagdad and Kabul. Obama's failure with the Russians has made Afghanistan impossible to supply. His commitment to a draw-down in Iraq has given our antagonists a tremendous strategic advantage. His loss of face in his Cairo address and elsewhere has emboldened the N.Korean. His lawyer-ish reaction to events in Iran has discouraged human rights advocates.
Of course he has until the 2010 preliminaries get under way to prove me wrong, and I hope he does. The consequences could be serious, especially for those of you who live in target cities. -

Killing Muslims makes American Democracy great. When Iran kills those who conspire against the state, America feels sad, but when America kills innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan it is freedom and Democracy.
