Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Steve Ruda told the newspaper that Jackson was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home and they had to perform CPR.
The pop star's immediate condition is not known, but TMZ.com is reporting that he may have had cardiac arrest.

So much for oxygen chambers and calorie restriction. The tragedy of this guy is not so much that he got the reputation of being a gay pedophile, but, I feel, that he seemed to hate being black. Worse, that he seemed to want to be an eternally young WHITE boy (Peter Pan). So much did he seem to NOT like being who he was, (a black man like one of his normal Jackson 5 brothers), that he got the sperm of WHITE guys to impregnate his "wife". When it was apparent that that is what he in fact did, he saw that the curtain to his self lothing was ripped wide open to the world, exposing his shame. Finding his kids looking NOTHING like him, the fantasy was over. Embarrassed, he had to end up hiding his shame of having the blondest of his kids... in a blanket, going so far as CALLING him "Blanket". And THAT is the biggest tragedy here. Again, it wasn't so much his gay pedophilia that brought him down, but, his self-hatred, lothing, and wanting to be a white boy, making it so he could FALL into the gay pedophilia situation so much easier. Anyway, a gay guy picked up on me. I, of course, talked him out of sex, but, learned that the REASON why he was going for young white guys (he was Japanese), was because he wanted to BE a young WHITE guy, and, seemed to feel having sex with them made him feel that he could achieve that. Although he hated the Bible, it sounded like that ONE scripture about becoming "one flesh" with the one you have sex with, was the one he wanted to believe was true. I'm thinking that's probably the only Bible scripture Jacko was hoping was true also.

MJ was never convicted of anything... Pete Townsend was convicted as a felon collector of child porn... maybe if MJ had been really white and Townsend had been black...

Wow! The dude was once the most important artist on the planet. An American tragedy. We build them up and tear them down. And nobody fell further than Michael. In my youth nobody had more potential than The Jacksons. And nobody was cooler than Michael when I was in college. Nobody thought he was weird in the least. But that was a period of about a decade and once it was over, it was over. I think the fame truly drove him crazy. He slipped the rails and nobody dared to right him.

Will this be a day to remember like the night John Lennon died or the day when Elvis passed?
Michael may have been the first real crossover artist. Where people didn't really think in terms of black and white. But in the end he was badly tarnished. Like Elvis, a shell of what had once been. And Elvis never faced the legal scrutiny of Michael. To some that will be the memory.
This was the way this story was ultimately meant to end. This was a fatalistic situation. -

I was thinking the same thing dr!!! I bet he is relieved that the attention is off him for now....it will be nothing but MJ stuff until after the autopsy and funeral....I am disgusted by how the news media is hanging on this story...nothing but MJ.........there is a world out there full of happenings and they have to fixate on this....poor Farah didn't get this attention and she was a far better person.

RIP to the King of Pop. I wonder if people will think of him like his generation did Elvis, who was also flawed but remembered for his contributions to the arts (and his Kingness) above all. I remember Thriller as one of those albums that everyone bought, and remember staying up to watch the premiere of the legendary video (I can still hear Vincent Price echoing in the background).
