Are you saying that the Democrat platform is about "If it feels good do it"? Family matters are not considered? Other people are not considered? I guess so because with Clinton guilty of sexual harassment, perjury, and conspiracy to commit perjury; the liberals backed him to the utmost. The phrase "consenting sex" was used over and over ignoring that in an organization it is sexual harassment even if the lower echelon person begged for it. Liberals always ignored that. NOW got that law passed almost everywhere and then stood mute when their boy Bill did it.

If a Democrat does something liberals ignore and many times praise them, like for Gary Studds.

If a Republican does something the sky has fallen.

Ironically, he helped balance the budget and create a surplus during his presidency. I could care less what they do in their private lives as long as they are good administrators and don't tell me what to do in my private life.

That is not what I was saying at all, Endo. In fact I did not even mention the Democrat platform.

        Please stop making up fictions.

It seems that Republican politicians have been getting away with sex scandals more than the Dems.
Sen. Larry Craig - refused to resign and finished his term
Sen John Ensign - refused to resign
Newt Gingrich - now one of Republican party's icons
Rudi Giuliani - went on to run for Republican nomination
Strom Thurmond - illegitimate, black daughter kept secret until after Thurmond's death and did not interfere with his political career at all

          www.salem-news.com/articles/.../repub_scandals

          By contrast -

          Bill Clinton got impeached
          Gov Eliot Spitzer resigned
          Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick resigned
John Edwards has no political future
Sen Gary Hart withdrew from presidential campaign

I, for one, have never praised any politician, Dem or Rep, for a sex scandal. I have repeatedly said that Clinton's affairs are signs of his moral failings and will forever be a stain on his historical record (pun intended).

I have also repeatedly said that a scandal ALONE is not grounds for impeachment or resignation. However, if the scandal interferes with the person's performance of his duties or if the offending politician has demanded resignation or impeachment of others for the same transgression, then he or she must also ac cept the same punishment that was demanded of others.

Sen Ensign must resign or be impeached because he voted for Clinton's impeachment. Gov Sanford must resign or be impeached because he completely abandoned his duties and the State of South Carolina for 7 days.
