White Supremacist Arrested After Making Threats To Judges »
Posted By TimALoftis 5 months ago in NewsWASHINGTON - The FBI has arrested one of the nation's most provocative white supremacists, the host of an Internet talk show and Web site, for saying that three federal judges should be killed.
Hal Turner, 47, was arrested Wednesday at his home in North Bergen, N.J., and accused of posting statements on his Web site calling for the murder of three federal appeals court judges in Chicago who recently ruled on a gun rights case.
"Let me be the first to say this plainly: these Judges deserve to be killed." He included their pictures, phone numbers, work address and room numbers along with a photo of the courthouse in which they work and a map of its location, the FBI says.

In the 2000 US congress election, Turner sought, but did not receive, the Republican Party nomination for election to the United States Congress from New Jersey's 13th congressional district, losing to Theresa de Leon.[11][12] Turner has identified himself as the "Chairman of the Republican Party of Hudson County, NJ Corp," a group which has no connection to the official Hudson County Republican Party recognized by the state and national party. According to news reports, Hudson County Republican officials have stated that Turner's party is a "paper corporation with little or no membership".[13] -

Thanks TimALoftis.

This is a very interesting story. I especially appreciate the link to the Wikipedia story referencing the relationship between Turner and Hannity.
Interesting that Hannity would deny any relationship at all - when he provided Hal Turner an open mike to transmit his 'hate-speak'.

The man should have realized that words do matter in certain context. Especially when you promote the death of federal judges and put up info about them including photos, addresses and maps. Sort of the same MO the anti-abortionist used to promote their agenda, killing and intimidating abortionists.

I'm not sure what drives this - but a common theme among the Modern Right is anger and rage.
Reply
I'll never quite understand this. But even when I was inclined to vote for Republicans - prior to the 1980's - I always noted the party faithful seemed to have one unifying characteristic ... an angry rage.
- Some were enraged at the government helping black people.
- Some were enraged at having to pay taxes.
- Some were enraged at the currency no longer being based on gold. (believe it or not - this was a huge issue amongst my fellow Republicans some decades back.)
- Some were enraged at the hippies ... of course we're talking the 70's here.
- Some were enraged that we weren't bombing Vietnam into a parking lot - same era.
- Some were enraged that the US Government was trying to FORCE a woman to have an abortion.
(This was a case that a woman solider got pregnant and the military gave her two options, leave the military or get an abortion. The Republicans were OUTRAGED that Government could dictate what a woman can do with her pregnancy ... this was before Jerry Falwell and Newt Gingrich transformed the essential philosophy of the party. ... ... ... NOW ... Republicans believe Government has TOTAL control over a woman's body.)
That's a lot of stuff to be angry about.
Having left the Republican Party ... I find that I'm a happier person ... and I'm immune to the emotional rabble-rousing fomented by angry white government hatin, minority hatin, tax-hatin, hypocrites like Sean Hannity.

personally, i refer to the remains of the republican party as the "angry white men and their womenfolk's party".

they have been in all positions of authority and profit for so long they feel entitled and now are p.o.'d seeing up and coming women and people of color taking places of which they think themselves more deserving, because they are white and male.
this is the beginning of the crumbling of wasp rule, and thank god for it. angry white guys have been driving this country to the brink of destruction repeatedly over the past 30 years.
time for a little "color". in the meantime, we need to catch and incarcerate all whack jobs making threats. -

There is no excuse for the conduct and comments of this nut. He needs to be removed from the air. It's one thing to disagree with a judge or group of people or whomever but there is no need to threaten or recommend such actions. This will end up before the courts as a first amendment case, free speech. Currently, there are few laws protecting people like you find with the FCC. It will be very interesting how this unfolds.
Reply
As to the Chicago gun ruling, that will also be overturned. The laws in question are a violation of the second amendment. Great, just what the NRA needs, a nut like this to distract from the original case. -

All this bipartisan support for constitutional law is so uplifting. Perhaps I am naive to believe that breaking several constitutional laws would suddenly inspire right wing propellerheads to reconsider their usual banter; "I'll yell fire in this crowded theater all I want ... you liberal Nazi censors."
Reply
What has changed? Are these fascists sympathizers getting worried now that our nation is evaluating each of these cases with prudent legal counsel? A spineless criminal commits a crime only when they believe that they can get away with it. Are we hearing the clamor of the virtuous or the rustling of rats jumping ship?
Now that sanity and constitutionality are finding common ground, where does that leave these neocon bigots? Must they review their comments; you know, the ones that advocate the support of speech that is not free - that kind of hate speech that advocates the murder of Americans based on religious differences, laws on abortion, and racial differences.Perhaps they would like to erase some comments from the archives on Propeller. There must be a reason for this sudden "bipartisan" mood. Wouldn't you think?
