South Florida Shavings produces its shavings from Florida Pine logs. Once they get the logs, they have an in-depth process that turns the logs into into a shaving suitable for equestrian uses. First, they shave down the pine logs. After that process is complete, they send the shavings into a kiln and dry them at a tempurature of 600 to 800 degrees depending on conditions. The shavings are then sent to a giant hopper, through a computerized bagging machine, and finally compressed into a 2.8 cubic foot plastic bags. Quality control personnel are constantly monitoring this process to assure a perfect product and your satisfaction.
