Rooting for those who would gladly bring the world back over a thousand years in civilization. Unless they have the ability to end it.
Rooting for Paradise and convincing the youth to help bring it on. SUICIDE BELT?

"Iranians are peace-loving people. We do not hate the world or Israel or America. We are everybody's friend, but unfortunately the state media has been drawing such a black pictures of Iran in the world that everybody thinks we are a bunch of Islamic fanatics.
What the authorities say only represent their frame of mind and not that of the people of Iran
Eighty per cent of the people I know do not even practice their faith. We are just born Muslims. We are not terrorists and what the authorities say only represents their frame of mind and not that of the people of Iran. Ahmadinejad and people like him do not represent Iran. They only represent the people who have appointed them." -

But of course! How would you explain the results of the last Iranian elections then? or the results of elections before the last? or the elections before those?
If the authorities DID NOT represent the 'frame of mind' of the Iranian PEOPLE then PEOPLE would not elect them time after time. It's that simple.
> Ahmadinejad and people like him do not represent Iran. They only represent the people who have appointed them.
The people who have appointed (elected) them are the majority of Iranians. If it was not the case Ahmadinejad would not be elected.-

> you know - there IS a movement of millions in Iran that posits that the elections were rigged.

Oh yes, I do. I also know that the very same Iranian people elected the very same Ahmadinejad a couple of years ago. Were THOSE elections "rigged" as well?-

there was no local dissent over it that i know of, and thrre no us observers to determine that.

ahmedinejad was originally elected on the promise of turning around the economy; he didn't and that was the impetus to start public dissent.-

Each and every political leader is elected (IF he is elected at all) on some promises. In most, or even ALL cases, these promises are not fully delivered.
Being a democratic theocracy (or a theocratic democracy) Iran is unique and its democracy is limited by the ruling Islamic authorities. Among other things, these authorities select the few allowed candidates for public posts. Ahmadinejad was the favorite one.
Yes, many Iranians did not like the results of their elections. This, however, is not a valid proof that the election results were somehow falsified.
