Over 1.5 million kids are now being home schooled in America. Some say it's even more.
And it's on the rise. Between 2003 and 2007, 400,000 more children were added to the home school roles.
A survey done by the National Center for Educational Statistics in 2007 found 3 major reasons why parents were home schooling.
1. Concerns about the school enviornment
2. Wanting more religious and moral instruction
3. Dissatisfaction with the academic instruction available
All three are very understandable justifications. Most parents won't just stand by and let something adversely happen to their children. Home schooling is just one example of this. If they feel their kids aren't getting a quality education, they teach them themselves.
