They'v got a lot of power, a lot of political power, and with power comes corruption.
They are among the latest in a long line of Oklahoma lawmen to go astray in a colorful history that dates to the wild west.
In some cases the good guys become bad guys.

Maybe if they were appointed by the Governor rather than being elected the problem could be somewhat mitigated.

I'm certain Oklahoma isn't alone in facing this problem. Law enforcement should NOT be staffed by selfish, arrogant, greedy, and ignorant people, but the police don't control who applies for the jobs. Unfortunately, corruption like this is also practiced by politicians and judges at all levels of government, so who's going to take action?

So who will be next in Oklahoma?Maybe Muskogee County Sheriff. In April 01,2004 the Muskogee Phoinix published an article on an anonymous letter sent to the court clerk which stated that a ten year old boy was killed and buried in the basement of the Muskogee Hotel. Darren Smith was assigned to the case and scratched a little dirt in the basement of the Muskogee Hotel but little effort returned no body. In 2007 and 2008 Charles Pearson was contacted by someone who says the letter was true and not an April fools joke. This person stated that he was the older brother to the alledged ten year old and that he could show where the bodies could be found. Pearson refused to allow the older brother to retrieve his siblings from the basement of the Muskogee Hotel, the older brother had further stated that in digging in the location of grave that additional bodies would be found to be exact -Four adults were killed and buried in same location and that is reason why ten year old was killed for witnessing the four adults killing. So what is it that the sheriff is trying to hide? And why? For those who are from Oklahoma I ask do you have a father who has been missing since 1967-1972? If so you should call Charles Pearson and demand Justice. At present the older brother has spoke with the District Attorneys office telling of same facts and his response was that when the Jerry Rainy case is over then they would meet to see if brother is right in knowing where the grave is to the tten year old. The older brother also knows who killed his younger siblings and that person iis comming up for parole in August of this year. Is there something to hide and why has the older brother been put off so long when it would take such a small amount of the D.A.s time?
