    Good article WikiMap,I think that more studys on how they detect the cancer should be done but the screening I would say is more affective.

      There is a lot of hype in the "screening" with "markers" business since acceptance of a marker for general use means commercial aspects that can reach billions of dollars for companies.

      There are a lot of "career brownie points" for doctors in being part of "comparative tests" of different care procedures.

      PSA has been around for almost 20 years now and both groups are still churning their "markets".

      In the meantime, funding for the basic research that might lead to major advances in such areas is scarce.
