America is not only a threat to Valenzuela but a threat to the entire humanity because it supports terror and occupation in the name of Democracy and freedom.

If we can get ourselves off of oil it really won't matter what these people say about us any more.

Many .... MANY ... national leaders have used Fear as a means of consolidating power.

Fear is a tremendous motivator and EVERY leader uses it.

Democrats typically use Fear to ensure continuation of Social Security.

Republicans use Fear to spend money on the military ... and to repress individual liberty.

In fact, it's interesting to understand the background story about the Neo-Conservative philosophy.

The Neo-Conservative ... it's not commonly known ... is predicated on the philosophy ofo Leo Strauss ... professor of political philosophy at the University of Chicago.

Here's a bit of info on Leo Strauss..
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Strauss

Promoters of Straussian Philosophy include ... Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Irving Kristol, William Kristol ... among others.

I think the most repugnant thing about this particular philosophy is the foundation upon which it is based ... that individual liberty and freedom is dangerous ... and must be controlled through the use of manufactured threats.

You know ... like the way the Bush administration created the threat of Saddam Hussein.

Chavez has learned to use the same tactics on his people that have been foisted upon the American people by US governments. Fear of Iran getting nuclear weapons or fear of Korea getting nuclear weapons keep getting used to continue our never ending military buildup. In Chavez's case, he keeps his military stronger and at his control.

When you give the people something to fear its easier to control them. Keep their minds off there own internal problems and they won't complain.

Chavez is only stating the obvious, and nobody familiar with the US's history of gunboat diplomacy and "regime change" would differ with him on this.

"El presidente" can't spend more than a week without scaring his constituents about an imminent American invasion or blaming he's country's shortcomings on the United States. This is the typical modus-operandi of left-wing dictators like Castro and Kim Jong-il...to perpetuate themselves in power.

Maybe all you idiots who support Chavez and his anti-American rhetoric should actually talk to some venezuelans. Every venezolano/a I have talked to can't stand Chavez. Maybe some should expand your horizons and actually talk the people who actually live there or have immigrated to US. Maybe you'll find out who actually lives in a true democracy.

Have any of you who support Chavez and his anti-American rhetoric actually talked to any Venezuelans? I truly doubt it because every venezolano/venezolana I have talked to have nothing to have nothing good to say about Chavez. Open up your horizons and talk to some Venezuelans and not rely upon the media and maybe you'll find out Chavez is a self-important, power hungry, money grubbing tyrant straight from the Venezuelans' mouths.

        So what is new.

        If you google 'OBama and Chavez' you will see that Chavez has a love/hate relationship going on with OBama. One day OBama is a Comrade, on a another date OBama is ignorant, and etc, etc, etc.. Yet on Monday, June 22nd, 2009, Chavez was in favor of OBama's approach to the election turmoil in Iran;
        http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/06/chavez-e...

Yet as mentioned above, the treat of an American invasion, which in itself is a laughable notion, of the Chavez oil fiefdom will scare the Venezuelan population into thinking that Hugo C has their best interests in mind and that he, Hugo, is standing up against the evil American Empire much as Che or Fiedel would Esp now that the Russian Navy is making port calls and Hugo has a couple of those really Cool Russian attack helicopters,Mil Mi-24's and Mi28A/N's and other similar 'toys', with AK-47s to 'play army' with.

War is Peace... Freedom is Slavery... Ignorance is Strength

To all those anti-US in this post, let me ask a simple question: Would they prefer a government like 1) Cuba, 2) Vanezuela, 3) Iran, 4) North Korea, 5) Myanmar?

Further to my post, would they prefer living under those regimes wherein there is no freedome of: speech; press; religion; assembly. Wherein travelling, even around their country, has to have permission by the government, more so if travelling abroad. This country, U.S.A. which they denounce and demonize as the No.1 supporter of terrorism, gives them greater freedom than all those countries I mentioned combined.

The U.S. is a threat to ANY dictator ANYWHERE. It is a threat to ANY country that suppresses its people. It will support ANY movement by the people of ANY country to free itself from tyranny. If that makes us supporters of terrorists, so be it. Those oppressed by their own government look to the U.S. for support, and this country has NEVER LET ANYBODY DOWN! Yes, fear the United States because as long as Chavez, Castro, Kim il Sung, Khamenei, or the military junta that rules Burma, suppresses its people, their number one enemy will be the U.S.
