Dan Rather made ONE factual error and was fired.
FoxNews's Brit Hume, Jon Gibson, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Ducey and ALL THE REST of that bunch LIE EVERY DAY AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN since 1996(!!!) and have never even been punished in any way.

you ever notice how conservatives here on propeller ALWAYS jump to an attack on the other side when faced with an argument they can't refute on the merits?
e.g. "Governor Sanford had an affair and lied about it."
Results in "CLINTON CLINTON CLINTON EDWARDS CLINTON CLINTON!!!"(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 6) (recursion depth : 5) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

Because it distracts us by forcing us to defend Clinton and Edwards in some way shape or form... What we need to do is just say, Distortion, and keep moving forward. Do not even address their lies, it gives them too much credence...
..although I admit I'm guilty of feeding them myself, it's fun to listen to them make fun of us like the little innane dissappearing species they are(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 7) (recursion depth : 6) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

it's almost like they have a wingnut playbook that reads
"Rule 1: When faced with an argument you don't know how to refute on the merits, bring up the wrongdoing of Clinton or some other prominent Democrat."
as an aside, I am sure the golden rule is:

since i won't post a 20-page comment on the lies of fox news throughout the ages, you should click through and read the article in question. the case involved a woman who worked for fox news who was refusing to go to press with a story that was being pushed by her superiors that she knew to be completely fabricated.

Since the first site that was supposed to show their lies turned out to be bunk you want me to try another? Get real. Especially when you are telling me to go check out a soros site.
A few weeks ago there was a story on here trashing Glenn Beck using a mediamatters video of part of Becks show. I saw that show. I watched it live. I pointed out where the soros site clearly edited the clip. Someone else on here even posted the link to the full Beck video unedited by lefties.
Now, having proved that the soros site media matters lied to make Fox look bad in the last month you still want to trust them when they say Fox lies to you??? Because it'd be considered unscrupulous.
And Fox News would bitch about persecution and make up a bunch of BS claims about how we were all lying about them. Unscrupulous to tell the public about a news outfit that blatanly lies? That doesn't make any sense. If anything this would increase the publics acceptance of a news outfit that was "looking out for them" by informing them of this. Also if Fox is going to "make up" lies the surest way to disprove them is with the truth. Why don't they expose them if they are telling the truth?

A person asks when they do not have all the information on a given subject. It is how a person learns and obtains facts. What is "hopeless" is assuming someone should just "know" what you do....it is a cheap way of not providing evidence to back up your claim and demeaning to others, as well as showing your lack of understanding on the subject.

I am sure they could take a few more pointers from Dan Rather!!>>>>
Dan Rather is a true journalist. Me thinks someone didn't want him around, commenting on the shenanigans of bush boy. Being one of the most respected journalists of our time, it was best to get rid of him.
And who would do that? Sweet CBS? The old CBS we knew and loved? The name may be the same, but CBS is not what it once was;
Westinghouse merged with CBS in 1996 (after several smaller acquisitions of smaller pieces of CBS). Westinghouse renamed itself "CBS Corporation." Hiding those right wing ties maybe?
Who's # 1 on the Board of Directors of Westinghouse? Frank Carlucci of none other than the Carlyle Group. Look up both Carlucci and Carlyle group. Doesn't get much more right wing than that.
In 1999, 'CBS Corporation' (previously Westinghouse), merged with Viocom. In 2005, Viacom was changed to ''CBS Corporation." (That 'trusted' name in television.)
National Amusements (Sumner Redston) has majority control of CBS Corp. Gave more than one million to bush boys campaign. Think he'd want a journalist of Dan Rather' calibre hanging around? After all, with these big boys it isn't about what's best for the country, but what's best for their pocket books.
I just follow the bouncing ball, & if I find too many 'coincidences' begin to question the perceived notions about things. Like your notion that Dan Rather isn't a top journalist and wasn't set up. Gonna have to say the evidence points to some shenanigans on the right wings part.(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 4) (recursion depth : 3) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

For Redstone, it's also about power:
Sumner Redstone had a falling-out with his son when the elder Redstone asked both children to give up their voting stakes in National Amusements during divorce proceedings in an attempt to assure he would retain control of the company.

Dan Rather?
Yeah god forbid you should report some truth with forged documents, always use forged docuement when reporting a lie, (or starting a war!)
Dan should have stuck with what he already had on Bushes AWOL. But then somehow magically, the national press forgot reporting about Bush being an AWOL pilot, and focused instead on sensational story about Dan. Who cares that Bush used forged documents to lead us into the invasion and occupation of Iraq and the death of 4000+ more Americans (and countless Iraqi)(comment_max_expanded_depth : 55) (comment depth : 4) (recursion depth : 3) (max_comment_reply_depth : 40) (comment_max_render_depth : 55)Reply

Mainstream Media has existed ... thrived in this nation as a case study in 'appeasement'.
In short ... they make money by not making waves.
There have been some exceptions.
For instance, Mainstream Media kept the Clinton's Whitewater 'scandal' in the news for years - even though there was never anything found. They relayed every feed from Sun Myung Moon's "Washington Times" and regurgitated it to the public.
But generally, Mainstream Media does not care about INFORMING the public with ANYTHING substantive. Look at the run-up to the Iraq war. There was plenty of evididence that this was a completely contrived ... arbitrary war.
Did media ferret out any information on this?
NOPE! In my opinion, the only REAL journalistic effort at questioning the Iraq war was made by Joe Wilson ... the fellow who went to Nigeria looking for a connection between Iraq and WMD.
But Joe Wilson is not a reporter. He's not a journalist. He got into print by writing an opinion.
Mainstream Media let George W. Bush roll over them.
Mainstream Media has NO backbone whatsoever.
So for FOX to charge Bias in Media is completely ludicrous.
. ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ . ∴ .
But I will tell y'all this ... and I think it's very important to remember.
There has NEVER been an extremist Ideology that has NOT attacked "Mainstream Media."
EXAMPLES:
Hugo Chavez has been claiming the Venezuelan Mainstream Media is biased against him ... and uses HIS media as a propaganda weapon.
Augusto Pinochet claimed Chilean Mainstream Media was biased against him ... and used his military to shut down all who disagreed with him.
Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Premier ... bought up the majority of Mainstream Media to ensure HIS Right Wing propaganda was the only message heard by Italians.
Adolf Hitler claimed Mainstream Media was run by Jews ... and was biased against him ... and Germany ... and he shut them down ... and replaced them with his Propaganda.
When Samoza took over Nicaragua ... he claimed Mainstream Media was biased to the left ... so he shut them down.
When the Sandanistas too over from Samoza ... he claimed Mainstream Media was biased to the right ... so he shut them down.
See?
You can ALWAYS identify an extremist by how much he goes on about Mainstream Media being 'against him'.
And ...
You can ALSO measure how extremely ... weirdly extremist ... how anti-traditional American values ... one is .... by how VIGILANTLY they whine about Mainstream Media being biased against their ... Ideology.
.
.
It's like an unshakable social equation.

You took the words right out of my mouth! This is proof positive that the Florida Supreme Court is as corrupt as they come...as if that fact wasn't already known after their decision to allow Bush to steal the 2000 election by blocking the legal recount that was proving Gore to be the popular winner. This decision is just more of the same. The fact that this proves that Fox News is reporting lies will likely have no effect on their popularity, however. I would really love to hear what the many Fox News fans have to say about this situation. Not that they were found to be within their rights to lie and manipulate the news, but that they ARE, in fact, lying and manipulating the news they report. To me, that fact is more important than whether they have the RIGHT to do it or not. Who could possibly respect them as a reputable news source after this????????? I mean seriously!

After this? do you even know what this case was about---it was about the use of growth hormones in cows and whether or not the reporter had sufficient evidence to retract information without setting the network up for a lawsuit. The network did not feel this to be the case so the reporter threw a hissy fit and threatened to "blow the whistle" on her employer simply because they didn't feel her "proof" was substantial enough to sheild them from a lawsuit. Please do some research and don't assume conspiracy.
