For a hypothetical of that nature, one would need some reason of suspicion; do yo have any? The only track record that we have on matters of this nature is the long history of abuse against gays that has come from the ACLU and various police departments in communities throughout the nation.
Why on the 40th anniversary of Stonewall? is a good question for those who know what Stonewall represents. You many not "personally give a damn if your gay, straight,, black or white..." but your statement shows little concern about the real issue which is so often involved when gays are treated with brutality by the police departments; and that issue is about abusing their civil rights.
When a person is arrested they are supposed to be read their rights and accused of a crime ... why are these missing from this story. Is it because of the reporting or the silence of the police department. It is usually the latter, But, if you prefer to find a more highly unlikely hypothesis, perhaps we can ignore the issue entirely. Which suits our interests best?
Call up the police department and find out why they were arrested. It is supposed to be public information; isn't it?-

Yeah, if they're going to put this in the news and treat gays as the victim, then publish the reason for the raid in the first place!

I am for equal rights, and want the hate crimes bill passed, so if this was solely because it was a "gay" bar, the police should be treated like anyone else guilty of a hate crime, otherwise, publish the reason for the raid! -

You just attacked David, who doesn't make crap up OR lie. The cops attacked the gay bar for no apparant reason on the aniversery of Stonewall. That kind of.. says to me that it was probably hate-motivated. Transitive property. If A = B, B = C, then A = C
