I know you'll tell me to shut up, but this has everything to do with health insurance; you just can't imagine a less cumbersome system. If my doctor orders a lab test, I just walk into the lab (no appointment needed), have the test done, and they send the results to my doctor. No payment, no special authorization, and no submitting of any forms on my part is involved.
