Is it any wonder that due to the ever expanding politicalization of the Christian faith, that many of its young adherents are abandoning their faith in such large numbers?

The Christians should have done better job of keeping their religious views out of politics & kept it where it belongs, at church!

The evangelical community often sees itself as the entirety of the Christian faith so a decline in their particular demographic is held by them as a loss of Christianity. After all, the only real Christians are evangelicals apparently. I come from this background so am taking my own house to task.

I was on a evangelical missionary website recently, where they are seeking evangelicals to work in an area they claim is "entirely unreached by the Gospel". However, the most casual google search would reveal the most notable landmark buildings in this particular area are its churches, and the country's religious preference is over 90 percent Christian. Why such a disparity between the claim of being "entirely unreached by the gospel" and what can be witnessed with plain eyes? The reason: The 90 percent Christian demographic is Catholic!

With such viewpoints, the distances between their dictates to others and their own personal actions, and their desire to blend in with the world's politics and institutions, do the evangelicals wonder why their numbers are down?

It ain't what's on your bumper sticker - it's what's in your heart.
