You have to understand ... the Modern Right has a real problem with Democracy. It REALLY p i s s e s them off when ALL Americans don't agree with them. Just look how enraged people like libsRfunny and other Right Wing Leaning Propeller members become when their opinions are countered ... out come the hate filled insults.

Of course, as they continue to become ever more Morally Vacant ... and continue towards an Ideology that is Unsustainable and Counter-Productive - their outrage will continue to grow ... possibly to dangerous proportions.
That said ... I DO hope the Right reforms themselves ... kicks out their goofy, blow-hard spokespeople like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Michael Savage ... and others.
Our nation NEEDS a healthy Republican party. While I support Barack Obama's efforts to bring some sorely missed 'Values' to our Federal Government ... having one party in charge of everything is not the ideal.
But, as a nation, what choice do we have but to reject the stridently self righteous ... and hypocritical Republican Party ... in it's present form?
The Modern Republican Party ... with it's current infestation of Neo-Conservative Philosophers ... is contrary to the traditional values our nation was founded upon.

You are absolutely right. As a progressive, I relish this moment. But I wish for a return of a more libertarian Republican Party. We must have a dialogue of ideas...we are not getting that now....
Dwight Eisenhower was the last good Republican president, IMO... He had his faults, to be sure, but he was absolutely correct that we should beware the rise of the military industrial complex back in 1960....

And man, was he right! We have ignored his warnings to our detriment! 9/11 was a dream come true for the neo-con nuts who wanted us to go to war in a country which had absolutely nothing to do with the attacks! They DREAMED of toppling Saddam Hussein LONG before 2001 and this god-forsaken war and even long before they managed to steal Florida and thus the 2000 election (The only thing that gives me solace over all that is that we might be staring at President Lieberman right now instead of President Obama........OOOOh...just got the chills!). I am absolutely convinced that 9/11 would not have happened with a President Gore (and before you nutjobs start negging me, Bush was asleep at the wheel for the first 8 months! He ignored the warnings while CLEARING BRUSH, for God's sake! He was a deer in the headlights on 9/11 ---oh, but 7 minutes staring into space while "My Pet Goat" is being read is OK! Jesus Christ! What's does it take with you nincompoops?). Say what you may about Al Gore, but hewouldn't have ignored the warnings. He would have been on the job....
With Richard Nixon came the corruption and the sense of entitlement that even Watergate could not undo forever. Ronald Reagan's Republican Party brought in the religious nuts....Jerry Falwell and Ralph Reed... in the coalition I like to describe as between the warmongers, the greedy bastards, and the religious nutcases. And we they see where that has led us? Hell, no! They want to keep trudging down that same corrupt path! What's really humorous to me is that these Limbaugh/Beck/Hannity/O'Reilly/FOX Noise lemmings believe that they can win with that strategy. I am just flabbergasted!
And again, I am not disparaging Christianity or any other religion, but our government works best if we read the First Amendment as it is written and respect Jefferson's wall...
Teddy Roosevelt left the party and ran as a Bull Moose when he saw where it was heading... The Republicans even of Nixon's day understood this.
Good God! Have these people no shame? -

Goppy: I suggest you watch the American Heritage series by David Barton a renowned historian that uses books written by the Founding Fathers as references ( unlike the UN documented work done in 1929 from which most modern day American history books have been FALSELY written). David suggests you read the same books by the ORIGINAL authors that are still available today in reprints, The originals are quite pricey and are collector items, but David even has a few of those. ) If YOU do you will LEARN the truth of the Founding Father THAT SOOOOOOOOOO many think they know, but really do NOT!
Reply
Yes they are Fairly expensive and YEA it takes allot of initiative and time since the series is 10 cd's long BUT if yu TRULY want to learn the truth you will, but MY GUESS IS YOU WON'T for it will FOREVER change your thinking Here is a link in quotes since the spam software will likely see it as spam even though it is relative to your post. Just copy between the quotes and paste in your address bar. The series can also be found on Ebay. "http://www.wallbuilders.com/store/product255.html... -
