The Clown From Minnesota »
Posted By btatman22 4 months, 1 week ago in Political OpinionWell it is finally over folks. The race for the golden senate seat in Minnesota has been decided by the state supreme court (similar to another election I recall). Former senator Norm Coleman conceded to the supreme court decision yesterday, effectively catapulting Al Franken to the senate. It will be official when Minnesota Governor TIm Pawlenty signs on the dotted line, which he is expected to do today.

I'll hold off judgement on Franken for a while, as I haven't followed him all that much, and what his thinking is on things.

As for being the clown from Minnesota, I always remember the original Back to the Future line, when Doc found out that Reagan was President..."and what's Jerry Lewis... Vice-President?
Many people thought Reagan was a joke (and still do), and if he could attain the office of Governor, and beyond, I don't see why Franken can't... -

Wolf, maybe you should read either of his books, Truth or Liars, which he had a lot of graduate student help with to validate the corruptness of the Bush adminstration ans repugs in general.... with actual validated facts with references.... a lot more than Coulter, Hannity, Limball or O'Reilly could ever do!

First they had a "professional" actor, mean wrestler for governor. Now they have a "comedian" who isn't funny as a senator. For a territory to become a state, population requirements must be met first. Perhaps next time we require an IQ test.

a) We also produced Pawlenty, who, if the GOP were not trying to play the female voter card, would have probably led the GOP to the white house. Way to go GOP. Oh and Norm Coleman too.
Reply
b) The race was basically split (hence all the hubub), so I guess all the MN GOP need to be disqualified because of their IQs as well.
c) MN is in the top fold of average IQs on numerous lists.
d) In my opinion, Ventura did a good job, far better than Arnold is doing for California. -

Can we also do this for WI? Because your IQ isn't very high if you're complaining about actors and comedians running for office. Ventura is a third party candidate success story. So that automatically makes him hated by the GOP. IF he was a Republican AND spoke the party line you all would love him. He's not a party line person and tells it like it is. He doesn't white wash it or sugar coat it.

LOL ... LOL ... LOL ....
Here we have a highly emotional ... ultra conservative blog ... whining about 'ultra-left' Americans ... as if the millions who supported Senator Franken are a loony-lot.
LOL ... LOL ... LOL ...
Man Alive .... y'all just have no clue.
You have no idea what your own Ideology is ... half of you don't even know what a Neo-Conservative is ... you didn't even know that on October 13, 2008, Bush called the CEO's of the 7 largest financial institutions to DC ... and FORCED them to accept $700 BILLION in Federal Money ... in exchange for GOVERNMENT OWNERSHIP.
LOL ... LOL ... LOL...
My God in Heaven ... y'all have lost all touch with your ability to cogitate on any issue ... so imbued with propaganda are y'all.
I see what's happening ...
Sublimated is the power of the right wing mind.
Elevated is the weakness of reactionary emotionalism.
Believe me, I have see the Right's Reactionary Emotionalism rise through the roof since Barack Obama was elected.
Y'all are just livid that America finally figured out what a Morally Vacant Ideology we had hooked our wagon to with Neo-Conservatism.
Well ... the wagon's been UN-hooked ...
When y'all come back to reality ... I'm sure America will give y'all another shot.
But if this story is the type of commentary y'all remain partial to ... ... ... my guess is ... ... ... you'll be inhabiting the ... 'extreme fringes' ... for quite a while longer.
In the meantime ... thanks for these .... 'postcards from the edge'.
LOL!!

LIE.
All the Neocons who took over the Republican Party are on the ULTRA-RIGHT fringes and the Democrats represent a more moderate approach.
If what this "writer" was saying was true, how do you explain all the Neocons being ousted all over the country and Prick Cheney's approval being so in the toilet?
But go ahead and call average Americans "fringe," Cons. THAT will really attract people to the remains your disintegrating "party." -

With one important difference: as far as I know, there was a full recount in Minnesota. Actually, there is another difference as well: I don't remember the right-wing protesting the other one.-

Another difference is the right wingers in Minn didn't threaten violence to shut down the recount either. So looking back they were quite different.

Ashamed and embarrassed? For electing the person they wanted to represent them?
Yes, he is a clown, and just like a court jester, he dares to speak truth to power.-

They're still mad because Al wrote a book debunking and calling Ann Coulter on her lies. Most of the book was devoted to just the footnotes and supposed facts.

Oh sure Hobe, he was intelligent enough to get the guy who helped steal the governorship of Washington awhile back to steal this one in Minnesota. He's a clown and a total left wing brain dead pos. He's already on the take has been even before he got into politics. Geez, how naive can you be?

The Republicans just CANNOT STAND it that Colemen was beaten - fair and square. The recount and that whole process was transparent from the very beginning.
Reply
They also just CANNOT STAND that Al Franken is successful. It has nothing to do with him being a comedian or any of his other vocations.
There is NOTHING to complain about that is legitimate - that is why they resort to calling him a "clown".
Its the same with Clinton - Republicans have never been able to stand the fact that Clinton was very popular all during his tenure as President, and he has been very successful ever since.
The only "clowns" around here are the people that are whining about Al's win.
Demean and decry him all you want - Al is now the 2nd Senator from Minnisota and he will be for the next 5.5 years.
Get OVER it ... -

Should be interesting to see what side Franken exposes his victims to. The ultra liberal **** side or the cultured pompous progressive side.

Minnesota is a joke.. why bash Wisconsin? We have a horrible governor as it is, and some of the highest taxes in the United States. A celebrity politician would be the final nail in our coffin. -
