Boortz also blamed the public schools, and claimed that the earth is really getting cooler as carbon dioxide emissions increase. This is the kind of nonsense that makes it clear why Republicans won’t be winning an election for a long time.

Actually...there is many reasons to stop using capitalism...rather than destroy our environment...especially our women...who are constantly overlooked from their resent battles with breast cancer etc...as they are the first to go...in any event...man will stop acting without careful thought.

Breast cancer is a reason not to have capitalism? Lets see here this country is built on capitalism and most medical research is done here, most medical procedures are created here, most medicines come from here, most advances towards cleaner energy come from here and in fact our country has the most requirement for emmissions on manufacturing anywhere, even our cars get emmissions testing every year, most products on the market today were originally created in America, of course now most are produced in China , Tiwann, India, Mexico, ect and with cap and trade I imagine the rest will move on overseas also ,

so it seems to me the capitalism has worked pretty well for the environment and breast cancer And its make us the strongest, richest country, which has allowed us to help out all those other countries feed themselves, have medicine and protected them from others.
All this because the earth might of warmed one degree in 100yrs and could rise another degree in another 100yrs
If I go along with that thought even though in the past 10 yrs the temp of the earth has gotten cooler by .6 degree I still do not think that it has to be done today, it can wait until the country is back on track again , then maybe someone will invent the perfect substitude for oil. We dont have an alternative today but we do have more efficient cars, it takes time for inventions to come to market, give the market time -

The last 2 winters were the coldest in 100yrs.The reason is decreased sunspot activity,nothing to do with co2.99% of the atmosphere is nitrogen & oxygen.CO2 is only .27% of the remaining 1%.The "Greenhouse Effect" is caused by water vapor not CO2.The atmosphere does not heat itself,it is heated by the SUN!The-sun-is-hot.This is not quantum physics.The carbon credits Al Gore has been investing in are at present,worthless.Once the bill is passed US Companies(not China's or India's)will be forced to buy these credits for being evil polluting capitalist.These credits will then be worth billions.My guess is many companies will move overseas or cut production to avoid having to buy something thats totally worthless,resulting in increased job loss.Also,can u prove Boortz is being paid by Exxon, which provides 1000's of good paying jobs for AMERICANS,with real FACTS?

You call your self "natureboy" You need to read alittle bit about the SOLAR system we live in. By the way that means SUN. The sun combined with other factors causes the earth to cool or warm up on a regular basis. About every 1500 years! Read the true science! It has been proven and then swept under the rug by liberals that Global Warming is a hoax.
If we go on with Cap and Trade we will be paying more for EVERYTHING that we buy.
My electric company has already sent me a letter telling me to contact my Representatives to vote it down because my rates will skyrocket if it is passed.
It would also cause millions of jobs to be moved to Countries like China and India where they won't have to play the Carbon Credit game.
Maybe one of those jobs will be yours. -

I did considerable research on this last year investigating the temperatures at Canadian and Australian weather stations. They have been dropping since about 1995. The CO2 is gas passed by Al numbnutts Gore and his tribe of no nothings. There is NO way to explain the Earth's temperature variant's without looking at a very long temp effect. Ask Al why GREENland is called CREENland. Hint: GRASS is GREEN. The solar thing in the sky, for you Gore people, is called THE SUN! It is a BIG nuclear reactor in the sky and gets pimples called sunspots. Google sunspots and go count the numbers yourself, 0,1,2,3 is correct method. Now go look at the history of sunspots and the Earth's climate. See if you understand, or ask a 4 year old to explain it to you. Boortz is no idiot. by the way, the Maya understand zero as the first number, not 1, do you?

Then you go on about the etymology of the name Greenland, of which you barely scratch the surface. Did you know that there is debate about whether the original name was 'grontland' (ground land) or 'hronland' (land of the whales)? Even if the correct first name by Eric the Red was 'Gronland' (Greenland), there's some speculation that this was a way to make it seem more attractive to settlers, or that it refers only to the Southernmost part (which is still quite green in summer), or even that it was greener at the time of the Medieval Warm Period. None of these are really indicators of global cooling.
If your considerable research was done with the same amount of thoroughness, I think you wasted your time. -

Food for thought: Look at the shift in magnetic North in the past several years. Now go research the ancient rocks in Australia that show a polar shift. We forget that the Earth wobbles. In respect to the sun, where were you 10 years ago?

I wonder it it might have occurred to any of those doomed folks on board the Titanic, as it sank beneath the waves (and all those neatly-arranged deck chairs simply floated away) that gee- maybe if they had punched holes in the watertight compartments at the OPPOSITE end of the ship, and jettisoned as much ever-so-elegant JUNK as they could, then instead of going ass-end-up, breaking apart, and sinking ignominiously into the North Atlantic then (although it would undoubtedly have ridden much lower in the water until help could arrive), both IT and also THEY might have actually MADE IT??!-

Frankhummel, if the atmosphere were 100% co2 (hypthethetically ok?),it would not have any effect on temperature-zero-none. It is the sun.Whats so hard about this? This is not even science. If u put a co2 extinguisher on an oven burner,what causes the co2 to get warmer,the co2 or the heat from the burner.This is just "common sense 101".So these pencil heads can spew all the scientific data about co2 levels they want.It means NOTHING,with regard to the temperature .

Dimbulb- Of COURSE the Sun is the SOURCE of the heat --- but what the CO2 (and other "greenhouse" gases do is to act as a "blanket" to HOLD IN heat.

Such gases are TRANSPARENT to LIGHT, but OPAQUE to HEAT. Now the light that passes right THROUGH them coming IN strikes the surface of the planet, delivering little packets of energy (called "photons") to the atoms that comprise the material of the surface.
It is the nature of atoms (as first realized by Einstein,giving rise to the branch of Physics known as QUANTUM MECHANICS) that they will ABSORB that LIGHT energy, and after some delay RE-RADIATE that energy at a LOWER frequency --- generally as HEAT. But that HEAT now cannot radiate freely back off into space! Instead, it "piles up" under the "greenhouse gas" BLANKET!
NOW do you "get it"??

Nope,Frankhummel,the main cause of the "green house" effect is water vapor not co2.Since water vapor is not a gas its never included by the global socialist.99% of the atmosphere is nitrogen & oxygen which r greenhouse gases also.CO2 is only.27% of the remaining 1%. But it's all still irrevelant because it's still the amount of heat from the sun that determines how much heat is absorbed.A hot sun (increased sunspots)=warmer temperatures.A cooler sun(decreased sunspots=cooler temps....NOT rocket science here.
