These states with steady, traditional economies have kept their jobless rates down and remain the ideal places to find employment . The lowest unemployment rate in the country remains North Dakota, tied with Nebraska for an amazingly low 4.4 percent unemployment rate. This is followed by Wyoming and South Dakota, both with unemployment rates at 5.0 percent.

Yes, people do live there. But their big cities are more humanly sized than most on the East and West coasts.

In response to your last rheotorical question, probably yes. But resources can be measured many ways using many different criteria. And if I remember correctly, we reached zero population growth maybe 30 years ago; the only thing that has kept our population growing is immigration. That's good in some ways, not so good in some.
I'm not sure we would have the political will (or even want to have it) to match families with resources. China's one family- one child policy has not been a particular success.

can you imagine that they have been caught running illegal puppy mills?
Didn't fit my perception of them....................but it's a fact.
Live and learn.......................not always a uplifting experience.

Thats funny Pete, we got a call from the SPCA on monday letting us know that they had a huge glut of dogs from a pennsylvania puppy mill.
