An esoteric offering which also has a direct connection with the inception of the 30 years war and the total change of direction which emerged in Europe in the 17th Century. The drama is set in the Kingdom of Bohemia the protagonists include the Protestant Frederick of Heidelberg and his new bride, Elizabeth, the second daughter of James 1st of England who became known as the "Winter King and Queen of Bohemia, because their reign lasted little more than 1 winter - and a much wider cast of characters, even including Rene Descartes - as a foot-soldier on the Catholic side.

      Beautiful building Gama.

I always wonder why "northern, english language" historians emphasize the history of the 16-17th century in terms of catholic/protestant "religious" fights rather than in terms of national/monarchic fights between rulers who "adopted a religion" that best suited their power ambitions.

The "30 Years War" is another historical event where it is very instructive to read histories written in different languanges!
