Obama, Chavez, Ayatollah Star in "Dangerous Liaisons" »
Posted By btatman22 4 months, 3 weeks ago in Political OpinionWhile all freedom loving Americans cringed at the site of President Barack Obama’s political spooning of Venezuelan Dictator Hugo Chavez last April, they were repeatedly reassured by their liberal counterparts that the flirtations exchanged between Obamez were nothing more than mere nation- and relation-building tactics. Diplomacy in other words, designed by the administration to make the world and its enemies love us again. As embarrassed as we were, we all hoped that was the case.
Likewise, when young Iranians were bleeding in the streets of Tehran to contest a rigged presidential election, Americans were lead to believe that the President’s initial silence was strategically necessary as to not undermine the protests. Undoubtedly, the president’s enjoyment of an ice cream cone a day after Neda Agha-Soltan’s murder was also part of this never before seen foreign policy strategy. To be fair, I think he ordered green M&M’s to top his ice cream (green being the symbolic color of the protests). That’s true solidarity.

"All jokes aside, if the president’s recent response to the Iranian protests and the ousting of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya has taught us anything, it’s that the winks, woo’s, and handshakes should have indicated more than just a maintaining of good rapport with anti-American despots.

Obama’s injurious world-view is supporting totalitarian governments at every turn while turning a deaf ear to the thunderous cries for freedom throughout."-

You are making it sound like Obama is the first president to support (which may be a word that needs definition in this context) totalitarian governments. The previous government in Iran was a totalitarian government. Iraq prior to Gulf War I? Saudi Arabia?

The list is endless.
Maybe it would be better to stop supporting other governments altogether. At least that way we wouldn't get it wrong so many times and save us a ton of money. We could use that money to pay off China and put a stop to them supporting us.

Diplomacy may not be the answer in every scenario, but it shouldn't be the last tool in the shed. It is almost always more efficient and less expensive.

It should have been used in Iraq. If we wanted the oil, war certainly wasn't the conservative, economic, efficient path to that end.

And i'm sure that all the neocons fasted and gave up their beer in solidarity, kind of like when bushboy gave up golf for the sacrifices of our soldiers...Hypocrites..
The people that supported busboy and cheney and all of their failed policys now look at real diplomacy as something so foreign they don't know what to do..
Lead, follow,or get out of the way repugs, you all lost...it's the adults turn now.You can ask rush what to do..i'm sure he has a plan that doesn't address anything other than obstructionism and blame..but the world see's that for what it is also. -

Can I make more money saying things so idioticaly annyoing

Or should I have an honest site that presents opinions moderated by a sense of honesty?
Ok, that wasn't hard.

Obama has some respect in the eyes of the world, Chavez is respected and supported by his people, if Americans hate him, it doesn't matter and Ayatollah is revered by the majority of the people in Iran, so they don't give a damn about American hypocrisy. People talk about the death of Neda Agha-Soltan where as America kills hundred of Iraqis and Afghans on a daily basis in the name of Democracy, and also on the other hand encouraging Israel to kill Palestinians everyday. And I keep reminding the Right Wing nuts and the Zionists Crusaders to stop fooling the world but they are relentless. They are exposed and it is time to stop their propaganda, it is backfiring. The truth is Musavi has lost his bid to become the president of Iran and Ahmaed Nijard has won and that is the reality and that is the end of the story. The election was free and fair, if Musavi says otherwise, then he should come with proof or face prosecution. These are the same Right Wing media that supported the invasion of Iraq in the name of WMD but still they couldn't find any of them and that killed and maimed millions of people in Iraq and thousands of Americans lost their lives in vain. The American Zionists frantically tried their best to get the Americans to go to war with Iran for their most trusted friend Israel but it is not working and their efforts were rendered worthless, the Americans rejected the GOP which is the prime supporter of Israel and its criminal policies, even Democrats are not better but the Americans have rejected Zionism means bad omen for the Israeli Zionists. So they are trying a different tactic to sour relations with Iran. Israel will never allow the American administration to have relation with Iran on a mutual basis because that will kill Israel prematurely.
