A Texas woman will serve at least nine years in prison for drowning her 3-month-old granddaughter in what the defense said was a misguided effort to teach the infant to swim.

    What an evil woman! I can't beleive she thought she was going to teach a 3 month old baby to swim, that's just not believable!

      I know better than to try to teach a 3 month old to swim, some people think because thay are in the mothers womb for nine months that they can swim this I have heard from many people, but they are wrong.

          She was suffering from bipolar disorder and admitted using drugs the night before and drinking wine the morning of the death of the child, why on earth would someone leave a 3 month old baby when they knew this?

          This is really sad, especially being the grandmother....a mother can claim post postpartum depression but this is insanity!!

          Hope she gets hers in prison.

            EE I think that she just might, they well call her a baby killer, a womens preson is no diffarent than a mans and many wemon well think of their own childrn who the love and miss. she well get it from the weman who have children. Lord knows I dont wish it on her but it happens when it comes to kids.

              Her son knew about her disorder and he must of knew she had been drinking wine that morning, but yet he goes and leaves the baby with her,I know its his mother and no matter if she had the disorder or not he loved her, but I wonder what is going on in side his mind knowing that he made a wrongful decison and it cost him his babys life. That poor man.

                My grandma loved me, and, I remember her almost accidentally drowning me when I was about a year old. She put my face under the faucet and it went down my nose, making me caugh and cry. I was afraid of her bathing me after that.
